IT works fantastic and my husband loves the grill the most because it’s bigger and better.
Hoooeeee, love my new grill! I upgraded to the 22.5 inch Silver just for the increased size. My old 18 inch Weber is still going strong after 14 years. Keep’em clean, dry and out of the weather and you can easily get 20 years of use from one.
I won’t bore you with the all the details and the long journey I’ve taken into the world of “low and slow” BBQ, but please, take to this advice….buy a weber 22.5 silver charcoal kettle…buy a smokenator 1000 and read the instructions….go to amazingribs and click on “the best ribs you’ve ever tasted”.
I just got it this week and assembled it yesterday, so this review isn’t about how it grills, but about the assembly and quality of the Weber Silver Kettle grill. I was pretty disappointed. After reading all the reviews about this grill on Amazon and other websites, I was expecting a fairly simple assembly and a good quality product. Unfortunately, I don’t feel that way after putting it together. One of the metal legs on the grill was warped, the porcelain coating inside the grill was scratched revealing the metal underneath, the wheels and legs seem really cheap and not held together tightly, and trying to get the metal legs fully onto the kettle was a huge hassle and seemed near impossible without fear of cracking the kettle. The bent/warped metal leg was definitely not a result of delivery and I feel that it should have been caught during quality control before it ever made it into the box. It’s just really disappointing for me because I was expecting a lot more from this grill. That said, I was able to put it together though I still worry a little about the sturdiness of the base. I’ll update my review after I actually start using the grill.
In response to the review that said he’d have to wait for 20 years…I’ve owned 3 (that’s right, just three) Weber grills. TWO are in my possession right now: 22.5″ and the beach grill (travel size). The one prior to this I owned for OVER 20 years (they last forever!), and the X confiscated it. Can’t blame him, and don’t. No need to go into the ‘this and that’s’ about a Weber grill. Once you have Q’d on a Weber, you’ll be in love! Charcoal or Gas…WEBER IS THE BEST!!
