We have this grill for more than a month now and we love it. It’s a great grill for a small patio.

OK, so you’re looking at this grill because you are like me – you HATE consumer grade stainless steel (well, the non-304 maintenance headache that most sub-two grand grills come with), you HATE shopping at WalMart, Target, and Lowe’s for grills mostly because the last grill lasted you about 1 – 1.5 years before it was unbearable to try and grill because the burners were rusted through and your food never turned out right.

So you said to yourself, I want a low maintenance grill, that will just work. Well this is it. Aluminum grill with stainless burners, and plastic body. Foldable side tables. This grill rocks! It has an amazing amount of usable space, and the way the lid folds upward, rotating about the BACK of the grill (instead of in the middle of the sides like most grills, you can use the ENTIRE surface, front to back. Heat distribution around grill is even and man this thing can kick to 600* in minutes.

This is the exact same as the Q320 except for three small removals, the handle light, the “warming rack” (I never used my other ones) and a different ignition system (the Q300’s works fine, I’m sure it will continue to do so). You can buy all separately if you think you might change your mind, or just one or the other, etc.

Only problem is that I had a time trying to find brass bristled brushes to clean the grill grates with. They do not recommend standard, hard steel bristles on the porcelain coated grates. I bought some inexpensive brushes at Torrington Brush Works [...]. Good company, fast shipping. Apparently, even some of the ones on Amazon, like the Weber, that USED to be be brass, are now stainless bristles? Some even said brass, and the reviews said they were shipped non-brass. I didn’t want to deal with that mess. I ordered the brushes at TBW and they were about $3 each, and shipping was only about 5 bucks for the lot.

Anyway, you won’t be disappointed. This probably doesn’t even need a cover, but I bought one anyway for twenty bucks. Might as well I suppose. Good thing about the Aluminum is it cools down crazy quickly after grilling so you can put the cover on just a few minutes after you’re done (ever pulled aluminum out of the oven with your bare hands? Cool, huh?

    Weber 426001 Q 300 Propane Gas Barbecue

This BBQ is a great design. Arrived well boxed and took about 45 min to assemble. Parts went together pretty easily with minimum of tools required, a philips screwdriver for cart parts and a hammer (or rubber mallet) for the wheel end caps. Its completely modular so if a part wears out should be easy to replace.

It heats up extremely quickly, is highly gas efficient and whats great is its clamshell design is aluminum, and the cart is mostly robust plastic. No more paint flaking off issues, and the burner size is matched to the design, so it maintains a temperature easily without temperature spiking. It also cools down fast when you are done. The folding table ends allow it to fit in tight spaces. **note the full size cover requires you fold down the ends. Buy an oversize cover if you want to leave them up. Also the new stainless brushes are ok to use on the enamel coated grill. I use veggie oil to help protect it and prevent food sticking.

The only thing I wish it did was hold a temp below 300 closed; it has large horizontal end vents but still requires propping open the lid to go lower on temp, even at low setting on the primary burner. It would be nice to target a 180 to 225 range temp for long slow cooking of ribs. So far we have grilled steaks at about 450 degrees with ease.

Highly recommend it and its other alternate smaller portable designs.

The Weber Q Series is a great series of grills. I had the Q200 and loved it for the RV and camping. When my old grill passed away I immeditarely decided to order the Q300 for the home. It is even greater with the two burners. The porcelain coated cast iron grill is so easy to clean and the heat is so even. The price is a little high, but the quality and performance are certainly there and Amazon’s price was the lowest with the free shipping. The only downside was the wheels were left out of the box. Weber got those to me very quickly and registered the grill over the phone. I am very happy with the grill, cover and drip pans.

Grill is great! Had to assemble it and found one of the legs on the back cradle was broken. Called Customer Service late one evening and the guy was so nice and helpful. The new piece was sent out overnight. So far so good!
